Banquet
We had a great time at the Banquet this year with a lot of new faces and some faces we have not seen in a long time. Visiting us were two of the people responsible for starting the series Dana Barlow and Ken Kincaid. Also on hand was C.J. Haycraft and Carol along with George Noonan and his wife. Rumor has it that C.J. and Carol are soon to be married. Dave Cochran and Kathy were also there. Dana Barlow's son Lance and girlfriend were there as well. Maybe Lance is soon to come back. We also had some guests who joined us as well accompanying Dee Powell was Allen Styres of Checkered Flag Racing and his son Tommy. Tommy was 2002 Mini Stock Champion at Hialeah. Maybe Tommy is thinking of joining us. Marty Little and Janet also joined us and Marty gave a very good after dinner speech to the group.

We started off the evening reviewing some of the accomplishments of the group.

We raced 90 miles and 14 races.

Our annual Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Harold Perry for his long-standing support and contribution to our series. There to present the award to him were two of our founding fathers Dana Barlow and Ken Kincaid.
This year we presented a Team Spirit Award to a team who came through for the series when by rights they should have stayed home. Dan Curl who suffered from health problems this year rallied his group and supported us when we really needed them. Thanks you Dan and team.
Many times Drivers are overlooked unless they run up front week after week seldom is a driver who is working his way consistently to the front noticed. This year however Don Peacock was noticed and presented with our most improved driver award.
The next trophy went to the Crew Cheif of the year. This trophy is meant to reward the crew cheif that not only brings out a competitive car but also shows the ability to keep the car going under adversity at the track. This years winner demonstrated at Sunshine Speedway that he can put them back together with the best of them and it was our pleasure to award it to Dee Powell.
