Randy is a 37 year old service manager in a family owned copier business in the Florida Keys. In 1992 he began racing against his father, George Sands in the Pro-4 of Florida traveling series and finished 6th in points.
In 1995 George and Randy decided to become a team and created Keys Motorsports based in Islamorada Florida. The team was George (father) as crew chief, Michelle (wife) as assistant crew chief and Daniel (son) as #1 fan.
In 1997 Keys Motorsports built a new car from a cut down '34 Ford Sedan and painted it pink. A rule change made the cars go topless which transformed the looks of this aggressive '34 into an unusual looking car, soon to be known all over the state as the "Pink Bathtub".
After 3 championships in a row the team took 2001 off and are now back with a new car based on a 1957 that was quickly named the "Pink Cadillac". Randy continues to pilot the #8 car to multiple wins throughout the state.
