CHARLOTTE COUNTY KICKOFF
Raymond Superfrog Jones showed the way to the front at the Outlaw Modified third Race of the year. Raymond Jones of Arcadia got the win in the No,. 41 car owned by Dave Osteen. Jones entered the race as the series point's leader off of consecutive second-place finishes in the first two races. Lance Hoversen of Key West was second in the 55 car while Phil Brigham of Fort Pierce driving the 7 was third. Early in the race, Brigham and Hoversen raced side by side with Bobby Dayton and Jones waiting in the wings. A late race move by Superfrog to pass Brigham opened the door for Lance Hoversen as well. Final finishing order was Jones, Lance Hoversen and Phillip Brigham. Finishing 4th was Bobby Dayton in the 90 car and Billy Campbell.
HOVERSEN LEADS OUTLAWS FROM POLE TO FINISH
Ted Hoversen 2002 Outlaw Modified Champion led for all 25 laps at Hialeah Speedway as the Outlaw Modifieds made their first of two appearances at Hialeah Speedway March 23. The only car that really had anything for Ted was the 7 car of Phillip Brigham which ran right on Teds bumper until a caution on lap 12 this caused the field to bunch up and allowed the field to catch the two. A electrical problem caused Phillip Brigham to retire early and allowed Raymond Superfrog Jones in the Dave Osteen 41 car to now chase Ted. It was to no avail though as the race was completed with
Doug Hopper of New Port Richey in the 15 car and starting on the outside pole won the drag race to turn one and never looked back as the Outlaw Modifieds ran their second of two appearances at Hialeah Speedway in 2003. Steve Quick of Davie, FL in Dee Powell's number 1 car chased Doug for 23 laps before a late race caution left him with no transmission. This left Raymond Superfrog Jones in Dave Osteen's 41 car the task of running down Doug. It was to no avail though as the checkered Flag fell 2 laps later. Ted Hoversen of Key West finished third. Rounding out the top five were Billy Campbell of Holiday in the 11 car and Dan Curl of Florida City in the 60 car. By the way this was Doug's second win of the year congratulations Doug.
As usual, running at the birthplace of the Outlaw Modifieds brings out long lost friends. It was good to see Heidi and Larry Locke bringing out the 31 car for a little spin. Hiedi did a good job especially when you consider it was her first race in quite some time. SC Klinger and Paul Conte brought us the 87 car and ran very well.

completed with Ted Hoversen in the lead. Finishing behind Frog was Bobby Dayton in the 60 car of Dan Curl in fourth was the 25 car driven by Kelly Curl. It was a good night for the Curl team with two cars in the top 5. Rounding out the top 5 was Myk Kohut in the 83 car. Joining us was Pete Cracocolici in the 9 car and looking very good. The Outlaws will be at Hialeah again April 5th.
